Our next CVS Hounslow free training October 8th 2010, 9.30 – 4pm in Captain Cook’s Room, West Thames College London Road, Isleworth TW7 4HS will be ‘Working in Partnerships’. This course will consider the benefits and pitfalls of partnership working.
CVS Hounslow welcomes the return of local funding to Neighbourhood Learning in Deprived Communities. This year the grant will be provided by the Skills Funding Agency, administered by Hounslow Adult and Community Education and CVS Hounslow and will run from August 2010 to July 2011.
CVS Hounslow has developed training for Trustees on developing their roles, responsibilities, performance and team working. The trustees’ training package is intended for delivery at your own organisation.

CVS Hounslow is carrying out its annual survey to assess its impact on members and stakeholders. This year, we are doing something different and also asking you about your own organisation and your services. This will help us build a picture of the voluntary and community sector as a whole.
Finally, the long awaited National Compact has arrived. Developed following months of consultation, the new Compact is leaner, more focussed and reflects the changing operating environment for the partnership between government and the voluntary sector.
CVS Hounslow, as part of the NI7 Project, has launched the web forum for Hounslow’s Local Compact. We need your input to help shape the development of the Compact for Hounslow so feel free to share this on the forum.
CVS Hounslow has launched its Resources Page, for signposting services and products for use by the local VCS. These are low cost or free and we will be looking for your feedback on its improvement for wider use.
Congratulations to CVS Hounslow members: Bereavement Services for Hounslow, Hounslow Extra Club and The Open House Cafe at the Parish of Brentford who have all won a £5,000 GSK Local Health Award.
CVS Hounslow members The Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow Athletic Club have been named as a lucky recipient of £250 worth of sports funding. They were awarded the grant from the Cash 4 Clubs scheme to help them to continue with their drugs lectures and also to assist in sending a team of 75 young athletes to Birmingham for the National Young Athletics Finals.
Age Concern Hounslow have been successful in achieving a £2,500 award from Groundwork and BAA to develop their Organic Garden and intergenerational working.
The growing, harvesting and preparation of the produce as exciting recipes will be a shared, fun project to bring older and younger generations together.

The National Council of Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) & The Office for the Third Sector (OTS) have launched Funding Central the new free website for comprehensive information about national, local and regional government funding, national, local or regional charitable funding, and EU funding.
