Last Chance to apply for Rainbow Funding

Rainbow Project

A final round of Rainbow funding is now available to tenants and leaseholders of Hounslow Homes. Groups can apply for funding of between £5000 and £15,000.  Applicants will be required to fill in only one application form and the closing date for applications is Wednesday 17th February.  Applications will be assessed by the Rainbow Panel at the end of February. 

 Do you have an idea for improving your estate?  Are there services or activities that would benefit your community?

Resident associations and community groups can apply for funding of between £5,000 and £15,000 for projects that

  •  Promote a united community e.g. removing barriers within your communities, helping people to get to know each other and encouraging people to get involved
  •  Transform estates by providing better facilities for play, leisure, etc
  •  Improve community buildings on your estate
  •  Support social enterprise e.g. encouraging self sustaining, local business
  •  Improve your local environment such as reducing your carbon footprint or schemes with a ‘green’ focus

 The deadline for application is Wednesday 17th February 2010.

Background

 The Rainbow Project is a programme to support Hounslow Homes’ residents to become more involved in their community and to work together to improve things that directly affect them. 

Many residents associations and community groups across the borough have received funding since the launch of the Rainbow Project in 2008, including 

  • Play groups and advice sessions for residents on the Haverfield Estate in Brentford 
  • A communal lounge for residents of Lavender Court Sheltered Scheme, Feltham 
  • Arts, dance and drama for young people and families on the Oriel Estate in Hanworth 
  • A community building on the Brabazon Estate in Heston 
  • Refurbishment to play areas on the Ivybridge estate in Isleworth and the Waterloo estate in Feltham 
  • Improvements to communal areas in the Lambert Lodge, Owen House and Hyde House sheltered schemes
