An Introduction to the Common Core

An understanding of the Common Core will raise awareness for voluntary and third sector bodies of what the CWDC (Children’s Workforce Development Council) consider to be the essential skills and knowledge needed by practitioners (including volunteers), whose work brings them into regular contact with children, young people and families.

Equality and Discrimination Seminar

Lambeth Law Centre are bringing their Equality and Discrimination training to West London and have offered CVS Hounslow members a half-day Seminar. Their unit is funded to do this work through the London Councils and the Law Centres Federation and CVSH Hounslow will facilitate the afternoon so that the training is free to members.

Emergency First Aid at Work

Our HSE registered Emergency First Aid at Work course held on 11/02/10 filled all the allocated places and received excellent feedback from our trainees who were especially appreciative of trainer Phil Betts.

Commissioning for VCS – Pre-qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) Workshop

Welcome to CVS Hounslow

We‘re the Council for Voluntary Services in Hounslow, an independent body which exists to support, advise and represent all voluntary groups based or working in the London Borough of Hounslow. Membership and our services are provided free of charge.

What we do

CVS Hounslow offers support and advice on a wide variety of voluntary and community sector issues. We also represent the views of both funded and unfunded voluntary groups in the London Borough of Hounslow.

Our services

Members can book an appointment with our Groups Development Officer for help and advice on voluntary sector issues.

CVS Hounslow runs free training for member organisations and an information service.

Our Community Accountant offers weekly finance surgeries.

We run and develop the Children and Young People’s Forum and work to ensure a voice in local decision making for the voluntary sector.

Our Aim

To facilitate the development of a socially inclusive, well informed, well trained, professional and appropriately funded voluntary/community sector that is responsive to the needs of local people.
